Applications open Feb 1st for a limited time

Through our Family Fun Day initiative, we’re giving three Texas families of up to four (4) a day of fun at Urban Air Adventure Park. This experience is meant to offer families a chance to step away from stress, reconnect, and create meaningful memories together. This opportunity is separate from our assistance applications and is open to families who would benefit from a fun, uplifting experience.

Families interested in being considered must complete the Family Fun Day application. Three families will be selected based on eligibility, availability, and alignment with the spirit of the program. Selected families will be contacted directly via the email or phone number provided.

Our Mission

At A Family In Need, our mission is simple: to lift families through life’s hardest moments with compassion, clarity, and meaningful support.

We stand with families across the country facing financial strain, food insecurity, medical challenges, and other hardships that place stress on a household. Every situation is different, and we work closely with each family to provide the kind of help that truly matters.

Our support goes beyond financial relief. We believe joy and connection are just as healing as assistance, especially for families and children who may be experiencing increased adversity, which is why we create opportunities for families to make memories and complete bucket list experiences through local outings, family fun days, and special trips designed to bring moments of hope back into their lives.

Throughout the year, we highlight and respond to the issues affecting families most, whether it’s hunger, medical expenses, seasonal challenges or natural disaster relief. We also host toy drives and community initiatives that bring comfort and encouragement to families and children during difficult times.

At the heart of our work we believe every family deserves the chance to breathe, rebuild, and thrive and we remain committed to walking alongside families with transparency, warmth, and unwavering care. When your family is in need, our family is here to help.

Every family deserves to feel safe. But for too many, the devastating reality of human trafficking turns that basic right into a distant hope.

From May through June, A Family In Need is dedicating our focus to an often hidden issue affecting families across the U.S. and beyond: human trafficking. Whether it’s a child manipulated through online platforms, a woman sold to buyers, or a parent forced into labor under threats of violence, trafficking rips apart lives and communities.

We’re here to change that.

Through advocacy, education, and direct support, we’re showing up for families who have been impacted and standing alongside the organizations that fight this crisis every day.

This April, as we shine a spotlight on Autism Awareness, A Family In Need is proud to announce an expanded mission to directly support both families and organizations dedicated to autism awareness and acceptance. Our primary focus revolves around establishing partnerships and actively collaborating with local family shelters throughout the country. By concentrating our efforts in this collaborative manner, we strive to create a comprehensive and impactful support system for families navigating the challenges of housing instability.

We cover expenses like groceries, home, and medical bills, with a focus on individual family needs. We also provide family vacations to celebrate milestones and host toy drives for childhood cancer. Impacted by Breast Cancer

When one person is diagnosed with breast cancer, the entire family feels the weight of it. From the emotional strain to the financial burden of treatments, appointments, and lost work, breast cancer doesn’t just affect individuals, it impacts whole families.

From September through October, A Family In Need is dedicating our focus to families navigating the challenges of breast cancer. In September, we prepare by spreading awareness, building resources, and offering support. In October, we stand alongside the nation in honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the families who live this reality every day.

Seeking Festive Cheer

A Family In Need is dedicated to bringing joy and support to families during the holiday season. We aim to alleviate the stress of holiday expenses by providing assistance with festive meals, gifts, and seasonal necessities. Our efforts include organizing holiday toy drives and coordinating community gift-giving initiatives to create lasting memories for families. Your contributions help us spread cheer and ensure that every family can experience the warmth and joy of the season, despite any challenges they may face. This season, we’re offering grocery assistance to help families enjoy the simple joy of a holiday dinner without added stress. Applications are being accepted now through December 25th, and each request will be reviewed within one week of submission. If your family could use a little extra support this holiday season, we invite you to apply below, because everyone deserves to share a special meal with the people they love.

At A Family In Need, we believe in the power of community and the importance of raising awareness for autism. This year, we were proud to sponsor the Texas Autism Walk, organized by the Autism Society of Texas. Our team joined hundreds of others in walking for a cause that touches so many lives. With each step, we supported families, advocated for inclusion, and contributed to a brighter future for individuals with autism. Shared Mission, Shared Impact

From May 12th to 19th, A Family In Need proudly partnered with the West Texas Food Bank for a special fundraising event in Midland and Odessa, Texas. This week-long initiative was dedicated to addressing the urgent issue of food insecurity in our community, providing essential resources and support to families facing hardship.

Throughout the week, we raised funds for families in need while highlighting the incredible work of the West Texas Food Bank. Our efforts were a testament to our commitment to support those facing adversity, with a special focus on food insecurity among American families.

A heartwarming collaboration is underway between A Family In Need and the wonderful, women-led brand Put Me On. Together, they’re excitedly anticipating the release of the ‘Nanny’s Set’ athleisure collection, set to debut on April 15th, 2024. This collection holds a special significance—it’s a touching tribute to one of Put Me On’s co-founders’ cherished grandmother, who bravely faced pancreatic cancer.

The ‘Nanny’s Set’ is more than just a clothing line; it’s a symbol of love, resilience, and generosity. Inspired by the enduring spirit of the co-founder’s late grandmother, whose legacy continues through her famous phrase “P.S. you’re my favorite, but don’t tell”.

What makes this collaboration even more impactful is its philanthropic mission. With every purchase of the ‘Nanny’s Set’, a portion of the proceeds will be dedicated to supporting a family grappling with pancreatic cancer through A Family In Need. It’s a beautiful way to honor the memory of a remarkable woman while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing similar challenges.

Supporting Our Firefighters Beyond the Flames

The fires may be out, but the impact remains. During the recent Los Angeles wildfires, the Los Angeles Fire Department worked tirelessly battling flames, protecting homes, and saving lives. Their dedication kept countless families safe. We are so happy to have been able to support Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation efforts by donating to their wildfire fund, helping provide essential tools, equipment, and resources to keep them prepared not just for this fire, but for whatever comes their way. We’re grateful for everything the LAFD does for their communities. Thank you, heroes!

Family Gateway offer’s stability and life-changing supportive services to families with children experiencing or near homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties in Texas. They are the leading agency in addressing family homelessness in their community and serve as the entry point for families seeking assistance. Services they offer include assessments to determine what interventions a family needs, creative solutions to avoid a shelter experience (e.g., eviction prevention), emergency shelter, supportive housing, general and vocational case management, and education programming.
